Brought to you by the letter G

I came across this over at Lisa's place

I asked to play and she gave me the letter 'G'.

Here's how it works: If you wanna play too, let m
e know in the comments or send me an email and I'll assign you a letter. Then you write about 10 words that start with that letter that are important to you and explain why.

1.)
Gladioli: One of my favorite flowers. I love the light scent and how full they make the garden look. They also remind me of my sister's and my father's funeral. Both of their sprays had gladiloi in them. My favorite variety is plum silk. Purple is my favorite color and this variety has a lushness and vibrancy that is extraordinary.

2.) Greenhouses: I love greenhouses. The smell the feel of them. The negative ions. You're never closer to God, than when you are gardening. I would love to have veggies, flowers and fruit, despite the season. I hope I can have my own greenhouse someday I can enjoy color and variety all year long.

3.) Richard Gere: He is one of my most beloved actors. I am not sure if it is himself as an actor or the parts that he plays, but he is the star of my favorite movies. I especially loved "Shall We Dance", I also loved "Pretty Woman", "Runaway Bride", "Autumn in New York", "Breathless" and "Officer and a Gentleman" I love romantic movies and he is such a *hottie*.

4.) Games: I love playing card and board games. We used to play a little when I was young. All sorts of games. Trouble, Rook, Sorry, Clue, Pick up Sticks, and Monopoly. In my adulthood, I have enjoyed spending time with Lisa, playing scrabble online (she cheats and always wins), and we have also had a good time playing Phase ten, Uno, as well as Hand and Foot. I play solitaire a LOT, and my favorite version of that is Spider solitaire. It is fun to hang out with family and friends and play games, snack and visit. I have some good memories, of my more recent trips to Utah, playing at Lisa's house with my other siblings and my step-Mom.

5.) Greece: I have alway
s wanted to travel to Greece. There is so much that little place offers. Such history and grandeur. The mythology, art, architecture, the past olympics, and fascinating people are just part of the draw. The Balkan Peninsula is simply stunning and there are so many things to do. The tastes and sounds of the area seem to be overwhelming. I can't wait to go there someday!

6.) Gemstones: I love jewelry and gemstones. All colors and varieties and it seems amazing to me that there is an entire rainbow of stones. From red rubies to yellow and sunset topaz, yellow diamonds, and green emeralds..to blue saphires and amethyst. They all sparkle and have their own individual appeal. I love opals as well as diamonds.

7.) Black Hills Gold: As I said, I love jewelry and one kind in particular is black hills gold. I love the different colors of the gold are interwoven together to create simple masterpieces. I have a set of earrings that I just love, and I adore this piece pictured here. I love the layers and pressings they can put into the gold. Such a neat aspect of jewelry.

8.) Goals: Goals have been a major help to me through out my life. I have battled some really tough things that I don't think I would have been able to over come with out setting small goals, and passing the milestones. Goals also let you help plot and study and be aware of your own progression. I love that. Checking things off my list of things I have finally been able to get done, or go through. I would not be where I am today if it wasn't for goal setting. Even though it isn't always a cakewalk, it is always worth it.

9) Grandparents: My grandparents have always been a huge influence to me. Even though, they have all passed away now the memories of them live on. When I was really young, I remember my Maternal Grandmother spending time in our home and helping me take off the braces I wore on my feet. That is when I was really small. My paternal grandparents lived close to us as well. I have many fond memories of baking pies and rolls at their house. The orchard that was there is also something I remember and my Grandfather growing prize roses. I am so grateful for my heritage and for the sacrifices my great grandparents made in their earthly life, as they traveled the many miles across the world and then on foot, across the continent. I have learned a great deal from my Grandmothers. Hand work and baking and all kinds of prized abilities. One thing that I have noticed is that in today's world there doesn't seem to be the same amount of respect for grandparents as I was taught in my youth.

10.) The Gospel of the Church of Jesus Christ ....is the last on my list...I would be lost without the church, and I was lost without it for several years when I was inactive. I have since become active and been through the temple. How wonderful that was. I need to go to the Temple more often. I always feel I need someone to go with. I hate going by myself. I have a testimony that I don't often share. I love the scriptures and would be lost without them.
